Redesign and branding of esports.com
The goal was to redesign esports.com and make it a plattform for gamers to get latest news and updates of the world of esports. Together with the development agency techmynder – Norbert Ptacek and I won the pitch for the redesign and branding.
01 PROBLEM
Rethink a news Plattform
To create a solid foundation for esports.com, we needed to define fundamental brand values and profile to ensure healthy growth in concept and visuals with their gaming audience in mind.
02 SOLUTION
Strategic Brand Framework
We developed a brand foundation through three key frameworks: Purpose Statement, Brand Values, and Design Principles. Each framework shaped different aspects of esports.com’s identity – from core mission to visual design. The purpose defined their role in esports, brand values set their character, and design principles guided the technical execution. Together, they created a cohesive system that balanced user needs with business goals.
Logo
Making of
Early on we knew we wanted to capture that impact and fire that esports has. We used generative design methods with Cinema4D as a tool to explore and prototype visual key concepts for the logo.
Web Concept
Website concepts we created for the pitch. We showcased index, team detail and player profile pages. Click to view full page.
Typography
For this project we chose Lexend as the copy font. A variable font empirically shown to significantly improve reading-proficiency. Headlines feature Gilroy, which we also use in our logotype, creating visual cohesion between our brand identity and content.
Given the content-centric nature of this project, our typography choices prioritize readability while maintaining our distinct visual identity.

Pitch
First we had to win the pitch. We prepared tech and marketing strategies, competitior analysis, showcases, mockups, designs, a presentation and trailer and most importantly – a vision to win the client over.
Rethinking news plattform
Before we came up with answers we had to find the right questions. With the right methods we suceeded with both.
Balance
Building a product is never easy. Navigating between our design vision and startup pragmatism required careful balance. Our challenge layed in fostering alignment without compromising the creative direction that would ultimately define the brand.
